SET DECORATION / PROPS / ART DIRECTION
‘My favourite part of my job is problem-solving. Bringing an idea into the 3D is magic.’
Lois has over ten years of experience working in film, television, commercials, events, fashion, and music videos. Diversity in her creative career has enabled her to transition seamlessly between the art department, props, and set decoration. Her vast knowledge of both contemporary and historical art and design has been an asset to sourcing or creating decor and props that are appropriate for any project. Most of her work is buying, making, decorating and coordinating. Whether she is at the computer, budgeting and scheduling, using her practical skill set to create pieces from scratch, set dressing, or out researching and sourcing existing items. Her positive attitude and high level of organisation make her efficient and easy to work with. She is currently working on developing her skills in woodworking and design software. COSTUMES

‘Fashion and costume design have always been a part of my DNA. Being able to create a garment from scratch is a humbling skill.’
Lois has been making clothes for as long as she can remember. She left school at sixteen to study fashion design, where she learnt to pattern-cut, print, age, and dye fabrics. She has worked on several projects as a costumer, stylist and textile artist. Using unconventional materials to make wearable art, her garments tell stories inspired by pop culture references and humour.
LIQUID LIGHT SHOWS
The Liquid Light Show is an abstract and improvised visual experience accompanied by live music. The origins of this art form can be traced back to the 1960s counterculture in London and San Francisco, where acts such as The Doors, Pink Floyd and Jefferson Airplane popularised the style.
Lois’s interest in this practice began when she was studying at the Cambridge School of Art, where Pink Floyd formed and played their very first show in the studio she was working in. Later, after moving to south London and purchasing an old, bulky overhead projector, she met psych-rock group Swedish Death Candy and travelled across the UK performing alongside the band.

‘As soon as I heard their music, I knew I found creative counterparts. Their sound fit perfectly with the visuals, and we immediately became friends.’
Recently, after relocating to Vancouver, the light show has been modernised and streamlined whilst still in keeping with the tradition of DIY and low tech. Lois has performed with local musicians and DJs such as The Lunchtime Band, Woman, and Wax Museum. See the contact page for bookings.
ARTWORK

‘I am fascinated by the esoteric and alternate states of reality. My drawings/paintings are very personal. They are glimpses of dreams and visions.’
Lois has a foundation diploma in fine art and a bachelor’s degree in illustration. During her studies, she focused on photography and videography as a way to document her work as a performance artist, costumer and set designer. Soon enough, the captured image became an art form unto itself. In 2011, in the midst of completing her degree, she was a featured artist on Dazed Digital and soon after went on to work occasionally as a music photographer for Art Rocker magazine. Also at this time, she had opportunities to collaborate as a photographer on projects with music icons Blondie and legendary fashion entrepreneur Lloyd Johnson. Along with co-hosting and working at parties, events and festivals in both the UK and Canada, she has also exhibited interactive art installations in various spaces around London. Recently, her diverse use of mixed media has gone back towards a more traditional illustration style using pens and acrylics on paper. See the contact page for commissions.
